Celebrity Life: Brad Pitt

Brat Pitt is undoubtedly one of the most popular and influential celebrities today. He is in the news lately for his new twin with domestic partner Angelina Jolie and the paparazzi scuffle for the million-dollar twin pictures. He and partner Angelina have another child together, Shiloh, and three adopted children Maddox, Pax, and Zahara. Brad used to be married to Friends star Jennifer Aniston. His divorce to the actress became subject to wide media coverage as it came at the heels of rumors of an affair with Angelina. But then, beyond the personal life of Brad Pitt that’s been often reported, his star power is well deserved.

Early Life

Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Brad grew up in Springfield, Missouri, where his family moved right after he was born. He attended Kickapoo High School, where he was active in sports, student government, the debate team, and acting. He then took up Journalism at the University of Missouri, with a focus on advertising. Two credits away from earning a degree, he headed for LA.

Paying His Dues

Brad paid his dues. Before becoming such a big star, he wore a chicken costume for El Pollo Loco and drove limousines for strippers. What he could earn from his odd jobs, he put in acting classes. He got some bit roles in television shows like Dallas and Another World. He was also in movies No Man’s Land and Less Than Zero, on uncredited roles.

Big Breaks

His break came with Thelma & Louis, and his iconic scene where he was topless and wore a cowboy hat. This was followed by the G-rate Cool World, with Kim Basinger and Robert Redford’s A River Runs Through It.

It was in 1994’s Interview With A Vampire, where he received his initial mainstream acclaim as celebrity and sex symbol. In the movie, he played Louis de Pointe du Lac, a vampire on a confessional rampage. He co-starred with big time celebrities Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater, and Kirsten Dunst in this movie. Brad and his long locks would later come out in Legends of the Fall, fortifying his sex symbol status.

Brad achieved critical success in Se7en, where he acted alongside screen luminaries Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. By 1995, Brad received a Golden Globe supporting actor nomination for his role in Twelve Monkeys.

Brad’s movies have bordered on controversial and critical, always dishing out something new. His credits include Seven Years in Tibet, Fight Club, Snatch, Troy, and Babel.
